2009 General Rules - All Classes                                                      12-04-06

The rules and /or regulations of 24 Raceway are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and in no way guarantees against injury or death to participants, spectators, or others. Every driver should inspect the racing surface to learn of any defects or obstructions, or anything, which in his or her opinion is unsafe. Drivers should then report such findings to track officials or management and declare if they will race or not. If the driver elects to race, this indicates that the driver assumes these risks with awareness and knowledge.

24 Raceway assumes no responsibility for damage to or loss of your equipment, vehicles, or parts while on the premises.

The rules in this section apply equally to every person in the pits.  You are expected to know the rules - ignorance of these rules will not be tolerated as an excuse.  Interpretation of these rules, or any deviation from these rules, is left to the discretion of track management and/or officials.  Their decision is final.

ADMISSION PAYMENT: Grandstand: Due to a high turn-over of insufficient funds received in the past, grandstand tickets MUST be paid in cash.

Pit Gate: Checks will still be accepted unless it becomes a problem.

Any fighting before, during or after a racing event on any part of 24 Raceway premises will not be tolerated. Offenders, and the car(s) they are associated with, may be subject to a fine, disqualification or both.

No drivers, crew members or others are allowed on the track or track apron at any time during a race lineup or race to check out equipment on a car, to repair a car, or to discuss or argue a track situation with track officials or other participants. Offenders, and the car(s) they are associated with, may be subject to a fine, disqualification or both.

No profane language is allowed in front of race fans, officials or management.  Offenders, and the car(s) they are associated with, may be subject to a fine, disqualification or both.

No drivers or cars will be allowed to participate in racing events unless the minimum safety requirements for car and safety gear, spelled out in the specifications for that car class are met.

Speeding in the pit area will not be tolerated. Drivers may be subject to a fine, disqualification or both.

ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED IN THE PITS UNTIL THE LAST RACE OF THE EVENING HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND ALL CARS ARE IN THE INFIELD.  All offenders, and the car(s) they are associated with, may be subject to a fine, disqualification or both. All vehicles and trailers are subject to search by track personnel at any time.

Track officials and/or management will resolve any disagreement over technical questions or track procedures.  If track officials and/or management determines a rule change is in the best interest of all parties, changes will be announced to all parties and a future, effective date will be provided and a rules update sheet will be given to all parties affected.  No changes will apply retroactively.  All decisions by officials and management will be final.

Everyone in the pits must purchase a pit pass and sign their own waiver (NO ONE can sign the waiver for you). Wrist bands must be worn. If found without an arm band on, penalties will be imposed.
Anyone under18 years of age must have a minor release form filled out and signed by both parents and notarized before entering the pits.

Children under 12 years of age MUST be with an adult at ALL times. If the child is unattended, penalties may be imposed.

All cars must pack the track when requested.  Failure to do so will result in whatever punishment is deemed reasonably by the officials and/or management.

All drivers will draw for starting positions in heat races.

Following heat races and feature races, the first four finishers in each class must pull directly to the tech area, onto the scales to weigh – if directed, and then to the inspection area - if directed - to finish the inspection process.  Drivers making engine or carburetor claims must also go thru the same inspection process. Failure to report to the tech area immediately following the finish of the heat/feature race will result in disqualification.

At the discretion of the flag man, any driver jumping positions on starts or restarts will be penalized the number of position  jumped, plus one position or be black flagged.

Car and driver must be lined up for the feature event and complete one green flag lap to qualify for feature money.

All races will be completely lined up in the infield, before the white flag is given in the previous race.  If you are not in position, you go to the rear.

Racing penalties may be imposed by the flag man or pit steward on the driver.  For all other rules infractions or misconduct within the 24 Raceway facilities, penalties may be imposed by any race official or management on the driver and/or his crew and/or his car.  Penalties may be one or more of the following:

a.  Verbal warning
b.  Require the driver to start at the rear of the field
c.  Suspension from competition for one week or more
d.  Temporary or permanent expulsion from the pit area or the entire facility.
e.  Fine
f.  Loss of prize money and/or points, in which case the payoff will be paid as though
    penalized driver had not participated.

Any car may be inspected by track officials or management at any time.

Everyone going into the pit area will sign his or her own pit release.  Signing for others will not be allowed.

The driver or owner will be the only spokesperson for the car.

The driver or owner of every car is responsible for their pit crew and their conduct. This includes fans and family in the grandstands.

Absolutely no one is allowed in the scorer’s tower other than the officials. Any questions about finishes are to be asked at the end of the evenings races. Scorekeepers are not flagmen. They make no calls about positions. They simply score you where they saw you finish.

Car numbers must be of extreme contrasting colors. Holographic or reflective lettering is highly discouraged. If the scorekeepers can not read your numbers from the scorer booth, you run the risk of not being scored properly. And once notified by the scorekeepers that your numbers are hard to read, you loose any right to dispute your scored position until you have changed your numbers to make them more readable.

Numbers are mandatory on both sides and on roof, which can be read form the scorer’s booth.

Points will be awarded from the start of the season - until a date designated by management.

Points awarded for racing events stay with the same class and the driver, regardless of the car driven.

Concrete pads will be held for renewal until Feburary26th 2006 at $100 each.  After February 26th, pads will be available on a first come, first served basis.

The track reserves the right to use your pad, or move you to another pad, in the event they are needed for a special racing event.

If weather forces a show cancellation, the event will be considered a "complete show" if all heat races have been completed.  No money will be refunded and the feature races will be made-up at the next race event.  Using a “Double Feature” format, Rain checks will be issued for the next racing event if the show is canceled before all heat races have been completed.

Track management reserves the right to change rules at any time.
