ROLL CAGE - Roll cage must be .095 inch tubing
with at least 1.500 inch diameter for main cage and door bars. No offset
cages. Four post roll cage must be used, with front and rear hoop welded to
the OEM frame. Rear hoop must have “X” brace, front down bars must be tied
together. Must have a Petty Bar on driver side. Rear kickers and front hoop
must be minimum 1.25 inch tubing with .083 inch wall thickness. Three
horizontal door bars on both sides are mandatory. Minimum of four uprights
tied from frame to top door bar on drivers’ side. May have two bars for
protection in front of radiator, behind bumper, within confines of body, no
wider than stock frame horns. May tie front horns together. All bars, front
and rear, must be inside body. Must have minimum of one cross bar in top of
halo of roll cage. Steel door plates, 18 gauge or .049 inch minimum thickness
metal must be securely welded to outside of door bars on drivers side. Plate
must cover the area from the top door bar to the rocker panel and from the
rear down post to five inches in front of the seat. Must be visible for
inspection. Must have pick up chains front and rear. Fuel cell protection bar must be used, mounted
frame rail to frame rail, no higher than the fuel cell and inside the trunk
area. Maximum 1.75 pipe.

SAFETY - Helmets are required and must be
approved Snell SA95, SA2000 or SA2005 full coverage and must be worn at all
times car is on the track. All helmets must meet Snell standards. Helmet
must accompany vehicle at time of inspection. Racing seat mandatory. Must be
attached to frame and cage. No fiberglass seats allowed. Fire suits of a
flame retardant nature must be worn by all competitors. Two-piece fire suits
allowed. NO KART SUITS AND NO FLAME RETARDANT COVERALLS. Fire resistant gloves
and shoes recommended. Flame retardant neck braces mandatory. Left side
window net mandatory. A minimum of three safety bars must be installed in
window opening in front of driver. Screen may be attached. Fire extinguisher
is required and must be securely mounted within driver reach.
Competition 3” shoulder harness, 3” lap belt and sub-strap are required. No
factory-type shoulder belts or straps. Metal to metal buckles are required on
shoulder and seat belts. The shoulder harness should be mounted even with, or
slightly above, driver’s shoulders. Belts should be anchored to frame and
cage. Seat belts and shoulder harness recommended not to be more than 1 year
old. Kill switch required within reach of driver. This switch must be
clearly marked “on” and “off”.
Loose objects and/or weights must not be used in driver’s compartment or
outside the body or hood area. Any weights added to other areas of the
vehicle must be securely mounted and should be painted white and have the car
number on it. Weights must be attached with at least two 1/2” bolts under the
car body.
360 degree drive shaft loop is required and must be constructed of at least
quarter inch by two inch steel, or one inch tubing, and should be mounted six
inches back from the u-joint.

ELECTRONICS - No transmitting or
listening devices allowed in car. No digital gauges allowed on car. No
ignition control boxes allowed, OEM ignition only. Tachometer allowed. No
traction control devices. If found, driver and car are suspended for four
events plus loss of points for previous 4 weeks.

FUEL - Pump gas only. No performance
enhancing additives. Racing fuel cell required, no boat or stock automotive
fuel tanks. Must be securely fastened inside trunk of car and be mounted by
at least two 1/8 inch thick solid steel straps, two inches wide around cell,
above level of stock trunk floor. Fire wall must be between driver and fuel
cell. All cell mounts must be steel, attached to frame cage. No adjustable
fuel cell mounts. Fuel cell must be in a steel container. Fuel cell vents
must have check valves. Fuel lines through driver compartment must be in
metal pipe or metal conduit. No fuel filters in drivers’ compartment.

BATTERY
- One 12 volt battery only. Must be in a marine type case
securely mounted to frame or roll cage in a metal frame behind the seat or in
trunk area.

TIRES AND WHEELS
- 14 to 16 inch D.O.T. approved passenger tires allowed not exceeding 10” wide
at any point on the tire. No American Racers or Hoosiers allowed except for
American Racers 205-70-15 Hobby Stock Tire is optional. No mud tires allowed.
No softening or Grooving allowed. Tires may not extend outside the body of the
car past the centerline of the tread at the top of the tire. Spoke steel
wheels allowed. IMCA wheels allowed. Maximum 8 inch steel wheel. Bead
locking devices allowed on right rear only. Reinforcing of stock wheels
recommended. One inch lug nuts required. .

FRAME - Frame must match body. Minimum
wheelbase - 107.5 inches. No more than one inch difference from side to side.
Frames may be “X” braced. Back of engine block to the center of rear axles
must be a minimum of 94 1/2 inches. Rear of frame behind rear tires, from a
point no further forward than one inch behind the factory seam, may be
replaced in stock location with two inch by three inch steel tubing with .095
inch wall thickness. Factory seam must remain visible. Must replace with the
same length as material removed. Unibodies must be tied - rear frame to front
frame. No station wagons, convertibles, front wheel drive, four wheel drive
or rear engines. Bumpers must be in stock location. Front and rear bumpers
must be capped to fender the width of the bumper. No reinforcement of bumpers.
Must have pick up chains front and rear.

SUSPENSION - Must be original type
suspension and match the frame. Steel springs only. No add-on quick steer
boxes. Lead ballast must be bolted with two ½ inch bolts to frame and painted
white with car number on it. No weight jacks allowed. All shocks must be
mounted in stock location.

BRAKES
- Master cylinder must be in stock location. Approved
OEM brakes on all four wheels must work. No OEM Anti-lock Brake Systems. Rear
wheel disk brakes allowed. No brake shutoff or bias allowed. No shutoff valves
allowed in breaking system. Breaks must be stock with exception of optional
rear wheel disk breaks. No plastic brake lines.

BODY - 1960 or newer American made stock
passenger automobile with factory steel top. No Camaros, Firebirds, or
Mustangs. Sunroofs and T-tops must be reinforced and enclosed. All bodies
must be approved OEM. Front and rear after market plastic nosepieces
allowed. No spoilers, wings, air scoops or anything that alters the stock
appearance. Hood must be separate from fenders - no one-piece or tilt front
ends. Hoods may be gutted. No cutting out kick panels. All holes in front
and rear fire walls must be covered with metal. Firewall and floor pans cannot
be removed for trimming or relocation, has to be stock and in stock location.
All hoods and trunks must be securely fastened and the back of the hood must
be sealed off from drivers compartment with metal. Maximum seven inch metal
sun visor may be added to top of windshield opening only. External rub rails
allowed if flush with body. All sharp edges, torn fenders and body panels to
be repaired prior to next race. Must have a minimum of three windshield bars
in front of driver. All glass, plastic, upholstery, rear seat, lights,
mirrors and chrome removed. Dash is not to extend more than 24 inches back
from the center of lower windshield opening. Dash must be flat except for
cowl in front of driver. All doors must be secured shut (welded, chained,
bolted, no rivets). The front inner wheel wells may be removed, but not the
rear wheel wells.

DRIVE
TRAIN
- Minimum 2.5 inch diameter steel drive shaft only and must be painted white
and have car number on it. All forward and reverse gears must be
operational. Transmission must be approved OEM automatic, with original bell
housing and functional torque converter containing a minimum of three quarts
of fluid, or approved OEM single disc type clutch inside an explosion proof
steel bell housing on manual transmission only. No corvette or aluminum
flywheels. Automatic must have an approved scatter shield (may be constructed
of quarter inch by three inch steel) 270 degrees around flex plate of
flywheel. Torque converter must have a minimum 1/8 inch plug. Steel axles
only. Nine inch Ford rear end allowed, but must be mounted like stock rear
end for that make and model. Rear end may be welded or mini spool, no full
spools. No floater rear ends. Rear suspension must match frame. No
electronic or mechanical traction control devices allowed.
- CAR WEIGHT RULE-Car must weigh minimum 3200 pounds
with driver after race.

NUMBERS - All cars must be numbered with
large, legible numbers on both sides, top and rear panel. Numbers must be in
contrasting color from body in all light conditions. Numbers on side of car
to be at least 4 inches thick and 20 inches high. Numbers on top must be at
least 4 inches thick and 30 inches high. Sign shop style numbers and
lettering required. No spray painted numbers or lettering allowed.

ENGINES
- Steel head only. Ford cars - no after-market or SVO heads. Chrysler cars -
no after market W2 heads. Stock replacement: World Products Head; #
955-043600 or #955-0436101-01 allowed. May run 64cc heads or larger. We will
pump engines at random. No angle plug heads. No 2”, 1.6” or larger valve
heads. If questionable you will have to pull one head. If you do not pull the
head you will be DQ’D. Engine/head pro-test rule. $125 pro-test fee. If
engine/head is illegal then protester gets fee back and if engine/head is
legal then the protest fee goes to the protested driver. If the engine/head
is illegal then the driver will forfeit all points and cash and contingency
winnings for the evening and car and driver are suspended from the Hobby Stock
class for the next 2 events.

ENGINE AND CARBURETOR - FOLLOWING RULES APPLY TO
ALL ENGINES -
-
The engine must appear strictly stock
for that make and model and in the original mounts. No 400 or larger cubic
inch parts allowed. Stroke must match block. MAX OF 10.5.1 COMPRESSION.
Cylinder heads must be unaltered approved OEM. Maximum 360 cubic inches (370
for Chrysler). No porting or polishing or alterations of any kind to heads or
intake with the exception of opening of the plenum on intake manifold.

Must have OEM cast iron intake. No
high rise intakes. May use 4-barrel cast iron intake with adapter. Exhaust
must extend past the fire wall. Must remain dual exhaust. Headers optional.

No electrical fuel pumps allowed.
Minimum two core approved steel or aluminum radiator. Aluminum water pumps
allowed. No full roller or roller tip rocker arms. No roller lifters.
Steel or aluminum pulleys allowed. Any overflow tubes are to be directed to
catch can. Accumulators and accusumps must be mounted under the hood.
Starter must be in stock location.

All cars must run a stock OEM two
barrel carburetor, GM to GM, Ford to Ford, Etc., no Holley carburetors. May
remove choke, but no other alterations allowed. Bore at base of carburetor
may not exceed 1 11/16” and 1 3/8” at the throat. $50 carburetor claim -
follow engine claim procedures. Driver may claim carburetor or engine, but
not both on the same night. $50 intake claim (exchange). Conventional air
cleaner housings only. No top flow air cleaner housing, cold air boxes or air
cleaner duct work allowed.

All cars must have the capability of
starting without being pushed or pulled. All cars must join lineup on demand,
unaided, or go to the rear of that race.

ENGINE CLAIM -
$425 cash engine claim with
exchange, $25 of this goes to the wrecker for pulling engine. Claim does not
include: 1) flywheel, 2) clutch, 3) pressure plate, 4) bell housing, 5) valve
cover breathers, 6) carburetor and adapter, 7) starter, 8) motor mounts, 9)
sending units and switches for oil pressure and water temperature, 10) fan and
pulleys, 11) clutch ball, 12) clutch arm, 13) throw-out bearing, 14) dip
stick, 15) water pump, 16) fuel pump, rod and plate, 17) distributor, 18) plug
wires, 19) headers.
First four position finishers (whether running or not) are subject to engine
and carburetor or intake claim by any other driver finishing fifth on back in
feature and on the same lap as the fourth place car. Driver is allowed to
make one engine claim or one carburetor claim or one intake claim per event,
regardless of outcome of that claim. In case of multiple claims, engine,
carburetor or intake will go to qualified claiming driver finishing farthest
back. Driver making claim must drive his race car immediately after finish of
feature, under its own power, directly to the claiming area. Only drivers and
officials allowed in claiming area. Claims must be made within 5 minutes of
end of feature race and claim must be accepted or denied within 5 minutes of
offer. Claimed engine, carburetor or intake must be completely removed within
one hour from the time claim is accepted.
All claims must be made to track official. Only drivers may claim. Refusal
to sell forfeits all points and cash and contingency winnings for that night
and car and driver are suspended from the hobby stock class for the next two
weeks. No driver may claim more than one engine or one carburetor or one
intake per regular season, plus number of times you have been claimed. Must
participate in two consecutive events to claim.
If the rules do not say you
can do it, DON’T DO IT.
