ROLL CAGE - Full 4-post roll cage must be
used, front and rear hoop to the frame Three door bars on left side are
mandatory. May have 2” bars for protection in front of radiator within
confines of the body and no wider than stock frame rails. May tie front horns
together. All bars, front and rear, must be inside body. Special note on
Unibodies: Roll cages on Unibodied cars must be welded to tie together frame
portions. Main hoop to be no less than 1.5 inch steel tube to be welded at
each joint. Main hoop and rear brace must have steel plates on bottom to be
bolted or welded to floor behind driver. No reinforcement of bumpers allowed.
Min of one cross bar in halo. Must have a petty bar on driver side. Steel door
plate mandatory. 18 guage or .049 inch min thickness metal, must be securely
welded to outside of door bars on driver side. Plate must cover area from top
door bar to rocker and from rear post at the back of the seat and 6” in front
of driver seat.

SAFETY - Combustible materials (top liner,
upholstery, etc.) must be removed from inside of car. All glass removed. No
mirrors allowed.
Helmets are required and must be approved Snell SA95, SA2000 or SA2005 full
coverage and must be worn at all times car is on the track. All helmets must
meet Snell standards. Helmet must accompany vehicle at time of inspection.
Racing seat mandatory. Must be attached to frame and cage. No fiberglass
seats allowed. Fire suits of a flame retardant nature must be worn by all
competitors. Two-piece fire suits allowed. NO KART SUITS AND NO FLAME
RETARDANT COVERALLS. Fire resistant gloves and shoes recommended. Flame
retardant neck braces mandatory. Left side window net mandatory.. A minimum
of three safety bars must be installed in window opening in front of driver.
Screen may be attached. Additional safety equipment optional.
Competition 3” shoulder harness, 3” lap belt and sub-strap are required. No
factory-type shoulder belts or straps. Metal to metal buckles are required on
shoulder and seat belts. The shoulder harness should be mounted even with, or
slightly above, driver’s shoulders. Belts should be anchored to frame and
cage. Seat belts and shoulder harness recommended not to be more than 1 year
old. Kill switch required within reach of driver. This switch must be
clearly marked “on” and “off”. Fire extinguisher is required and must be
securely mounted within driver reach.
Loose objects and/or weights must not be used in driver’s compartment or
outside the body or hood area. Any weights added to other areas of the
vehicle must be securely mounted and should be painted white and have the car
number on it. Weights must be attached with at least two 1/2” bolts under the
car body.

BRAKES - Operative 4-wheel, drum or disc
combination. Brakes will be checked. No shutoff valves in breaking system.

EXHAUST - Headers optional (no 180 degree
headers). Mufflers optional.

FUEL - Pump gas or racing fuel allowed.
No additives! Racing fuel cell required, no boat or stock automotive fuel
tanks. Must be securely fastened inside trunk of car and be mounted by at
least two 1/8 inch thick solid steel straps, two inches wide around cell.
Trunk floor may be removed and fuel cell may be lowered.. Fire wall must be
between driver and fuel cell. All cell mounts must be steel, attached to
frame cage. No adjustable fuel cell mounts. Fuel cell must be in a steel
container. Fuel cell vents must have check valves. Fuel lines through driver
compartment must be in metal pipe or metal conduit. No fuel filters in
drivers’ compartment.

BATTERY
- Battery must be in a marine type case securely mounted to frame or roll cage
in a metal frame behind the seat or in trunk area.

TIRES AND WHEELS
- All wheels to be steel with 8 inch maximum. 14 to 16 inch wheels and tires
allowed. Any stock D.O.T. tire up to and including 60 series tires and G60
McCreary American Racer. No mud, snow or Hoosier tires. 1/2” lug bolt with 1
inch nut on all four wheels minimum. Bead locks allowed on right rear and
right front only. Tires may be grooved or siped.

ENGINES AND CARBURETOR
- All engines used in competition must be able to be used in conventional
passenger car without alteration. Motor mounts cannot be removed or
altered. Castings and fittings must not be changed. No machine work on
outside engine or on front or rear of camshaft. Must be strictly stock for
make of car. Must mount in stock position. Steel mounts are optional. Chain
may be used to hold motor to reduce torque bind. Mechanical push rod fuel
pumps only. No electric pumps. Two or four barrel intake allowed no alum.
One two-barrel carburetor. No aerosol carbs. No dominators. No fuel
injection or electric fuel pumps. Must be naturally aspirated. Maximum 1 3/4”
bore at base plate. $200 carburetor claim - follow engine claim procedures.
Driver may claim carburetor or engine, but not both on the same night.
Maximum one inch spacer between carburetor and intake. No top flow air
cleaner housings. Dart heads, roller rocker arms, stud girdles okay.
Aluminum or steel rocker arms are optional. No rev kits. No roller cams. No
aluminum blocks, heads or intake manifolds, Weiand intake #7547-1 and
Edelbrock 2101 will be allowed.

FRAMES - Minimum wheel base of 107.5 inches
both sides with no more than one inch difference from side to side. Camaros
with 108 inch minimum wheel base allowed. GM Unibodies minimum wheelbase is
109”. 1988-96 front wheel drive
Monte
Carlo, Grand Prix, Lumina, Regal, and
Cutlass bodies will be allowed on 1978-87 GM metric frames.1978-87 stock frame
must match original firewall and floor pan. Back of engine block to the center
of rear axles must be a minimum of 94 ½ inches. 1980 or new Ford unibodies may
be replaced with Ford full frames. NOTE: May be shortened to 107.5”
minimum. Frames and cross member may not be altered in any way for engine
placement. Rear of frame may be replaced with 2” x 3” steel tubing, .095 wall
thickness from center of rear tire back. Motor must be in stock location.
Metric frames and Ford frames must have the back of the fuel pump in front of
the cross member. Cross member may not be altered in any way. Frames may be
“X” braced. Note: Must tie front frame to rear frame together on Unibody
cars. MUST HAVE PICKUP CHAINS FRONT AND REAR.

BODIES - Any
U.S.
manufactured full body passenger car 1960 or newer, full frame or Unibody ALL
BODIES MUST BE STOCK with exception of the GM front wheel drive bodies. No
alum or prefabricated body panel. If car was manufactured with alum hood you
may use. But, only if that year make and model of production can use alum
hoods. Rub rails no bigger than 1” x 2” and may be attached to body from
fender well to fender well, flush with body and painted to match car. All
windows in body will remain open. Driver seat may be no further back than
quarter post. Maximum seven inch metal sun visor may be added to top of
windshield opening only. Stock appearing plastic nose pieces may be used. No
spoilers. 3" hood scoop allowed. All holes in front and rear fire walls to
be covered with metal. Floor pans can not be removed for trimming or
relocation, Has to be stock and to be in stock location. Front firewall from
unaltered factory seam vertically to front of dash may be replaced with
minimum .049 inch thickness steel. Dash is not to extend more than 24 inches
back from center of lower windshield opening. No lowering of the body or
shortening or lengthening of the body.
Car body and frame must be stock and in stock location. Hoods may be gutted
but not shortened. Back of hood must be sealed off from other driver
compartment using metal, not plastic material. Fenders may be trimmed for
wheel clearance. Inner fender splash panels may be removed. Pipe bumpers
are allowed on rear if made in a safe manner. All bumper mounts must be
steel.. Front bumper may have one round bar, maximum one inch diameter to
support the nose piece. This bar can be a maximum of eight inches in front of
bumper.
All cars must be numbered with large, legible numbers on both sides, top and
rear panel. Numbers must be in contrasting color from body in all light
conditions. Number on side of car to be 4 inches thick and minimum 20” high.
Numbers on top must be 4” thick and 30” high.

DRIVE TRAIN - O.E.M. production type
transmissions will be allowed - 3 speed, 4 speed,5 speed and automatic. No “in
and out” boxes. No buttons or couplers. Must be clutch operated. (With motor
running and car in a still position, driver must be able to engage car in gear
and move forward and backward at all times.) Clutch must be inside of bell
housing. Transmission must have at least one gear forward and one gear
reverse, plus a neutral position and must be able to be shifted by driver.
All race cars must join lineup on demand, unaided, or go to rear of that race.
Clutch type transmissions must be equipped with an explosion proof bell
housing. If an explosion proof bell housing is not available for your engine,
you may construct a shield of at least ¼ inch by 6 inch steel covering the
clutch area 360 degrees and be securely fastened. Drive shaft loop is
required and must be constructed of at least ¼ inch by 2 inch steel and should
be mounted no more than 6 inches back from front of drive shaft. Drive shaft
must be painted white and have car number on it.
Any passenger car or truck rear end may be used. No aluminum allowed. No
aluminum suspension parts. No coil over shocks. One shock per wheel. Tubular
A frames allowed on top ONLY must accept factory ball joint and bolt in stock
position. No quick change device. No Bert or Brinn transmissions. Ford nine
inch or floaters okay. Triple disk clutch okay. Rear suspension must match
frame with stock components only. Front and rear weight jacks optional.
Quick steer optional.
No transmitting or listening devices allowed in car. No traction-control
devices. If found, driver and car are suspended for four events plus loss of
points for previous 4 events.

CAR WEIGHT RULE
- All cars must weight 3100 pounds with driver after race.

ENGINE CLAIM - $525 engine claim with
exchange, $25 of this goes to the wrecker for pulling engine. Claim does not
include: 1) flywheel, 2) clutch, 3) pressure plate, 4) bell housing, 5) valve
cover breathers, 6) carburetor and adapter, 7) starter, 8) motor mounts, 9)
sending units and switches for oil pressure and water temperature, 10) fan and
pulleys, 11) clutch ball, 12) clutch arm, 13) throw-out bearing, 14) dip
stick, 15) water pump, 16) fuel pump, rod and plate, 17) distributor, 18) plug
wires, 19) headers.
Carburetor Claim: $200

If carburetor or engine claim is
refused, driver loses money and points for that night plus two weeks
suspension.
First four position finishers (whether running or not) are subject to engine
and carburetor claim by any other driver finishing fifth on back in feature
and on the same lap as the fourth place car. Driver is allowed to make one
engine claim or one carburetor claim per event, regardless of outcome of that
claim. In case of multiple claims, engine or carburetor will go to qualified
claiming driver finishing farthest back. Driver making claim must drive his
race car immediately after finish of feature, under its own power, directly to
the claiming area. Only drivers and officials allowed in claiming area.
Claims must be made within 5 minutes of end of feature race and claim must be
accepted or denied within 5 minutes of offer. Claimed engine or carburetor
must be completely removed within one hour from the time claim is accepted.
All claims must be made to track official. Only drivers may claim. Refusal
to sell forfeits all points and cash and contingency winnings for that night
and car and driver are suspended from the sportsman class for the next two
events. No driver may claim more than one engine or one carburetor per
regular season, plus number of times you have been claimed. Must participate
in two consecutive events to claim.
Decisions of Officials are
final and binding without exception.
If the rules do not say you can do it, DON’T DO IT.
