Q and A's with Jeff Creed

Find out more about Jeff on his "Driver Profile" page.

1. The usual questions.

    Favorite form of motor sports?

Nextel cup racing

    Favorite driver?

Dale Earnhardt Jr, Matt Kenseth.

    Favorite race track?

Atlanta

    Favorite car?

1967 Corvette

What type of vehicle do you drive on the street?

S-10 blazer

2. Can you describe your favorite race you've had that stands out in your mind the most?

That has to be my first win. It was in 1996, I just beat Kelly Smith, we were racing in the sportsman class.

3. Who do you least want in your rear view mirror on race day and who do you least want to try to pass for the lead?

There is no one that I don't want to race with. I love the competition...as long as they don't try to take me out.

4. Can you describe what a typical night at the races is like for you, how you get pumped, and how you wind down after the races?

I am anxious all day Saturday, but when we get to the track there is so much to do I kind of forget about being nervous. the only time I really relaxed is when I am racing.

5. What is one thing in your opinion that would improve the experience for the fans at 24 Raceway each week?

I have been told by friends that watch from the stands that they would like to have access to information about the drivers and classes at the track, so I guess some form of program would be good.

6. What does it take to be a winning race car driver?

Driving the car is the easiest part. You HAVE to have a good handling car, and having a lot of really good help getting the car set up for the track conditions makes it easy.

7. If Richard Childress, Robert Yates, and Rodger Penske showed up at your door with a contract which one would you sign with?

Richard Childress, who wouldn't want to drive the same cars that Dale Earnhardt drove?

8. Do you play any computer racing sims at home and in your opinion do they help with the real thing?

I don't play them. I would think anything that hones your reflexes will make you a better driver.

9. Do you miss the limited late models at 24 Raceway and do you think they are a very important class in local dirt track racing?

They are a good class. but I would rather see open late models at Moberly.

10. Which classes of cars would you race locally if given the opportunity?

I would race anything. I have driven in a lot of different classes. I have had the most success in the sportsman class, and modifieds are fun to drive (but a little hard to get used to), but my favorite car to drive has to be an open late model.

11. What do you plan to do with your racing career over the next 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years?

Everyone wants to say they will be racing with the big boys in the future, but I am sure that I will be right here racing at local tracks.

I would like to thank Jeff Creed for taking his time to answer these questions, who knows, we may get him around again to answer more questions, so if you have a question to ask him or any other driver email me webmaster@ssautosport.com
