Q and A's with David Lorton 1. The usual questions. Favorite form of motor sports? NASCAR CUP SERIES (sorry Nextel but it was
Winston for soooo long!) JEFF GORDON 24 RACEWAY (local) - Lowes Motor Speedway
(national) What type of car do you drive on the street? 2. Can you describe what a typical night at the races is like for you? How you get pumped, and how you wind down after the races?
3. What accomplishment in your career are you most proud of?
4. Who do you least want to have to pass, and who do you least want behind
you on race day? I would have to say Casey is the hardest to pass but there are a few others that rarely mess up when they're out front. Blake would worry me the most being behind me. 5. If you were in the points lead at 2 different tracks and they had a scheduled event for the same night how would you determine which race to go to?
6. What one race you competed in stands out most in your mind? The Endurance race we had on asphalt a few years ago. I finished 6th with a 4 cylinder racing against 8 cylinder engines. It was a lot of fun! (although the 3 rolls I've taken always keep me thinking) 7. What is one thing in your opinion that would improve the fans experience
at 24 Raceway each week? I think the fans would like the show to roll a little smoother like getting things started on time and maybe some music during the breaks. 8. If Richard Childress (Chevrolet), Robert Yates (Ford), and Rodger Penske (Dodge) showed up at your door with a contract which one would you sign with?
9. What do you plan to do with your racing career over the next 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years? Next year I'll be racing Hobby Stocks. I want to eventually work my way up to the A-Mods and will hopefully be there in the next 5 years. 10 years is too far to look at my age! 10. What do you say to kids (and others) who would like to get into racing? Stay focused on your goals and go for it! There are a lot of racing venues out there for the young ones to get started in. Requested Questions My
racing has been a lot better than my darts so I would be at the track!
Thanks a lot David and
congratulations on your feature win at Callaway this year, and good luck next
year in Hobby Stocks. |
