1. The usual questions. Favorite form of motor sports?
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Racing!
2. Can you describe what a typical night at the races is like for you? How you get pumped, and how you wind down after the races? I like to sit in the truck and listen to some music to get relaxed before a race. Usually I have my dad and a couple of buddies at the track with me, so we will sit on the trailer and joke around. That calms me down. After a race I normally am so jazzed up that I could probably go sprint a lap on foot! By the time I get back to Columbia I have lost the adrenaline rush, my friends and I hang out for a while. 3. Who do you least want to have to pass, and who do you least want behind you on race day? There are a few guys that I don't want to have to pass; David Lorton, Rob Chase and Josh Langhammer. We have had some classic battles this year, win or lose, they are all tough! There is nobody that I don't want behind me, I want them all behind me!!! 4. What is one thing in your opinion that would improve the fans experience at 24 Raceway each week? I don't know, maybe free beer. Just kidding Jerry! I think that there is awesome racing in every class, so from a racing standpoint 24 is doing great. More specials would be pretty cool, I sure would like to run another 20 lapper in my hornet! 5. What do you plan to do with your racing career over the next 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years? I just strive to do the best that I am capable of. Because of my brother's success, I have been blessed with a great opportunity. I in the next year I want to be in a modified. Right now I try not to think too much about the far future. Good things will happen if I keep diggin'. 6. What do you say to kids (and others) who would like to get into racing? Just go for it! It takes a lot of work and a bunch of sacrifices. You cannot be afraid to meet new people, they can end up being the ones that help you the most. Hornets are a great way to get started. They are inexpensive and harder to drive than one would think. Be nervous! It going to happen so just ride with it. Its neat to put yourself through a hornet race and know that many people are watching and thinking, " I could do that", but they are just watching. You are one of the crazy fools that actually do it! 7. If money was no object, what class (locally) would you race in? A-mods for sure! I had an opportunity to test Darryl Turner's car one Sunday. It was awesome!!! The talent it must take to win in one of those beasts, boy! I have a whole new level of respect for those guys. 8. If you were watching the races from the stands what class would you enjoy watching the most? Before I started racing I would have liked watching the A-mod division the most. Now that I have experienced what close racing is all about, I have to say that those guys in the hobby stocks are really fun to watch! That special they had a few weeks ago, whew! 9. If you could pick a dream sponsor who would it be? That's a tough one! I really enjoy team sports such as football, basketball and baseball. So maybe a major sporting equipment brand that could get me some free tickets!!! Kenny will answer more questions over the next few weeks, so stay tuned to www.24racewayinmoberly.com for more.
