Final Standings ]
Ok
group, here's the scoop: 2 inches of rain on Wednesday and another 4+ inches on
Friday is just simply too much water in the ground and not enough drying time
for racing this Saturday. Even more rain was due to come down on Saturday. This
was to be a double points racing night and with the night's race cancellation,
the season points leaders are as they stood after the race on August 21. Unless
a change in policy takes place between now and Sept. 4, these are the final
standings.
Don't miss the exciting 2nd annual B-modified Special next weekend,
brought to you by M H C Kenworth of Columbia, located on Highway 763 just north
of Columbia, and also by Triple K Tractors and Equipment, located one mile south
of Hallsville. A flyer, with info on the B-mod 30 lap race in two segments,
format and the payout taking place on Labor Day weekend, September 4, can be
found on Heartland Motorsports' main page. M H C Kenworth of Columbia is the
primary sponsor for this 2nd annual B-modified event that last year drew 54
B-modified racecars in its inception. Several new Kenworth trucks will be on
display in both the infield and up top at the grandstand area.
This Saturday, 24 Raceway was to have donated a dollar from every ticket
sold for the grandstand seating at the racetrack to benefit the Central Missouri
Dream Factory. All this will still be going towards the first annual "Cruise for
the Kids" put on this weekend by Bentz GM Country. That dollar donation per
ticket will now take place on the night of September 18, so come out to enjoy
this promotion for a worthy cause.
Next week, the bicycle give-away program, known as the Junior Race Fan
Club, will be sponsored by Still Towing, LLC of Macon, (with Dean Still racing
in the #00 Thunder Truck). Some lucky child will be going home with another new
bicycle after the races, just for signing up at the grandstand area.
The revised season points accumulated by the drivers, can be viewed after
each Monday on the website of www.24racewayinmoberly.com, administered by Sam
Smith (now gaining seat time in the Hornet car #77).
It's all happening again this Saturday at 24 Raceway, Moberly, Missouri,
brought to you in part by Best Western/Moberly Inn and Bentz GM Country of
Macon. You can find an updated schedule together with info for upcoming events
on our own site along with the various sites of
Heartland
Motorsports, racin'boys.com, and who won.com.
Watch for other promotions coming in September. On September 11, a
special free admission is in store for fire, police, emergency medical staff and
military personnel with a valid photo i.d. This is also the sixth appearance by
the Northeast Missouri Dwarf Car Association scheduled at the track for the
season. And a winged sprint car event will be taking place on September 26, a
Sunday night, with the B-modifieds and Sportsman classes also competing (and
likely one more class). This will be the second race of this season for the
W.O.W. 360 c.i. sprint cars at the high-banked half mile of Moberly, and is a
show you don't want to miss.
Dirt Track Racing at Its Best begins at 7pm. A driver's meeting, then hot
laps, start at 6pm. Six of the best stockcar classes of any of the area tracks
are taking place again this weekend, so don't miss out! Adult ticket prices fof
this B-Modified Special are $10 and kids are only $5 to get in. Pit passes are
$20 with the pit gates opening at 4pm. Registration for B-mod members is $50.
For non-members, the registration is $60 and includes a driver pit pass.
